Cali Kids
Cali Kids is an exciting schools program that provides students with an introduction to the fantastic sport of Calisthenics. Coordination, gross and fine motor skills, memory, confidence and creativity are all stimulated in the program, which can be tailored to suit both Primary and Secondary aged students (boys and girls). We offer two program formats, one run during curriculum hours and the other run during lunchtimes.
Cali Kids - Curriculum hours
These active and entertaining, 1 hour sessions begin with fun warm up activities and stretching. Skill development in free exercises, dance, rods and flags (instead of clubs) is fostered by learning and performing short routines to modern music. And to finish, cool down activities and question time, where the students can quiz the coach on all things Calisthenics! With all of this included, our program satisfies the VELS (Victorian Essential Learning Standards) in the domains of Health and Physical Education and The Arts.
Sessions can be booked as a one off, or as a series of sessions (between 2 and 6 sessions) which progress in challenges and skill development. At the end of your program, each child also receives a showbag, including information about Calisthenics and local clubs.
Cali Kids - Lunchtime
The essence of this program is the same as our curriculum based program, with this format being run at a time that allows for a greater range of students to be involved. These 30 minute, lightning sessions introduce students to the fundamentals of Calisthenics over the course of the 8 week program. At the end of the program, all students receive a special gift for their participation.
All sessions are run by qualified level one coaches, who hold both a current first aid certificate and a Working With Children Check.
