People with a Disability

Calisthenics Victoria Inc. (CVI) has received funding from VicHealth's State Sporting Association Participation Program (SSAPP) to increase participation in sport and physical activity. CVI’s focus for the project is making Calisthenics available to children and adults who would not normally be able participate in our sport. Children with special needs and disabilities are the main focus of our SSAPP Project. CVI is able to work alongside special development schools and community groups to create and run programs that are tailored to the needs of individual schools and students.

CVI has developed and administered programs for a number of schools with a range of special needs including Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Aspbergers, Downs Syndrome, and other physical impairments.

We have had the opportunity to provide a programs for Croxton School, Western Autistic School, Belvoir Special School and The Victorian College for the Deaf to name just a few.

CVI has close partnerships with Access All Abilities Providers and Local Sporting Associations which enable us to provide high quality programs and clear transition pathways for participant who choose to take up our wonderful sport at local club level.

We are able to supply qualified coaches with specific skills and training, as well as all equipment, music and any other resources required for programs. All Calisthenic coaches have current first aid training, Working With Children Checks, and are accredited with the Australian Sports Commission.
