Solo Frequently Asked Questions

2027 Solo/Duo/Trios FAQs

QUESTION  ANSWER

Where can I find my competition schedule?

When schedules are released, you will be able to view your personalised competition schedule by logging into your MyCompHQ profile and selecting My Schedule. This will show your performance date, time, and venue.

Can I change my performance number?

No. Performance numbers cannot be changed under any circumstances. These numbers are fixed as they are directly linked to venue schedules, adjudicators’ paperwork, and videography systems.

In exceptional and unforeseen circumstances only, a performer may request to be presented later within their section. This request must be made directly to the competition host on the day.

Please note:

  • The performance number itself does not change

  • The performer may be presented later, but all official records remain unchanged

Requests are assessed on the day and cannot be guaranteed.

How are performer numbers allocated and how are Part A/B sections decided?

Performer numbers and Part A/Part B splits are randomised through an automated system to ensure fairness and remove any bias from the allocation process.

The system is designed to randomise allocations across the entire section, creating a varied and balanced mix of performers. There is no manual grouping or intentional placement of specific competitors together or apart.

If similar numbers or familiar groupings occur, this is purely coincidental as part of the random allocation process. The integrity and fairness of the system are maintained for all competitors.

When should performers arrive on competition day?

Performer check-in opens 45 minutes before the start of their scheduled session. Performers cannot check in or enter the venue earlier than this time.

If you are performing in the first session of the day, venue entry will also open 45 minutes prior to the first item only. Early entry is not permitted, as staff and venues are still being prepared.

What if we are running late on competition day?

If you experience an unexpected delay, you must contact the competition host immediately. Host contact details for each weekend will be listed below.

This contact is for genuine, unforeseen circumstances only.
If a performer does not arrive before their scheduled start time and no prior contact has been made with the host or Calisthenics Victoria, they will not be permitted to perform. Clear communication helps keep the competition running smoothly.

How do we organise special dressing room requirements?

If you have male performers or require special dressing room arrangements, please email
competitions@calisthenics.asn.au as early as possible. Advance notice allows us to work with venues to make appropriate arrangements.

When must music be uploaded?

All music must be uploaded via MyCompHQ by the Sunday prior to your competition weekend.

Late uploads are not passed on to theatre technicians. If your music is uploaded late, you will need to supply it on a USB (MP3 format only) as a last-resort backup.

Please note:
If a performer arrives late and has not uploaded their music, using a USB will not be approved, as it is too difficult to manage once competition sessions are underway. Upload early to avoid disappointment.

How do coach tickets work?

Each performer is entitled to one (1) coach ticket only, which may be used solely by the qualified coach who is putting the performer on stage.

  • A parent or other adult placing a performer on stage cannot use a coach ticket unless they are a qualified coach

  • Coach tickets cannot be transferred or used by audience members

  • Coaches must present a valid coaching qualification ID displaying their name and photo

Each performer also receives one complimentary ticket for a parent/supporter, which is included in the competition entry fee. One ticket is allocated per performer only.

How do ticket sales work?

Tickets are $22 for adults, $17 for child, concession and coach.

Tickets will be available for purchase on the day using square devices (transaction fees apply)for either a morning or afternoon session. Single tickets cannot be pre-purchased online.

Theatres that have a box office will operate with their own transaction fees with one ticket.

Cash will not be accepted under any circumstances.

10 pack tickets can only be purchased online via the following link here.

• 10-session passes are valid for Local Competitions only.
• They are not valid for Regional Competitions or State Championships.
• The following theatres apply their own ticketing surcharges and do not accept the 10-session pass:
Burrinja, Clocktower, The Round and Wyndham.

To redeem your pass, please present proof of purchase at the ticket box on arrival. A member of competition staff will validate your entry.

Will competition programs be available?

Competition programs will be uploaded to the Calisthenics Victoria website on the Thursday prior to each competition weekend.

Programs will not be printed by Calisthenics Victoria. You are welcome to download and print your own copy if desired.

Will I receive my award on stage?

Yes. Based on feedback from the community, in 2026 all performers will be presented on stage at the conclusion of their section and awarded by the adjudicator.

If a performer prefers not to take part in on-stage presentation, they may remain side stage. This choice will be respected.

How does point distribution work in combined age or division sections?

In some competitions, sections may be combined due to entry numbers. When this occurs, additional points may be applied to ensure fairness. These points are applied at the time of adjudication.

Combined by division

  • Performers receive one (1) additional point per difference in division

Combined by age – Solos

  • If a section is combined with a one-year age difference, no age points are added

  • If there is a two-year or greater age gap, one (1) age point is added to the youngest age group only

Example – 8 / 9 / 10 years combined:

  • 8-year-olds: +1 age point, plus any applicable divisional points

  • 9-year-olds: divisional points only

  • 10-year-olds: divisional points only

Combined Masters age sections

All aged Masters sections (excluding Open and Open Reserve) do not receive age points, regardless of age spread. Only divisional points apply if combined.

Combined by age – Duos & Trios

  • Where age brackets are combined, one (1) age point is added to the younger age group(s)

  • Where Seniors and Masters are combined, Masters receive one (1) age point

  • Divisional points apply to all age groups as usual

Example – Sub-Junior / Junior / Intermediate duo combined:

  • Sub-Juniors: +2 age points, plus divisional points

  • Juniors: +1 age point, plus divisional points

  • Intermediates: divisional points only

Adjudicators are informed of all applicable additional points.
Performers are not notified in advance of their point distribution.

How do I withdraw from a competition or apply for a refund?

If you need to withdraw from a competition or apply for a refund, you must submit the 2026 Withdrawal and Refund Request Form.

Your performance may still appear in the competition program, as performer numbers and sections are not adjusted once programs are prepared.

Approved refunds are processed closer to the end of the season and returned to the original payment method. You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed.

If you are withdrawing for a reason that does not require a refund, you must still submit the same form so we can track withdrawals and notify competition hosts.

If you are withdrawing on the day of the competition, please contact the competition host directly using the listed contact number.

How can I access the Coaches Portal?

You can access the Coaches Portal via MyCompHQ. You may be prompted to reset your password when logging in. You can only access the portal if you are a 2026 Registered Coach here.

Once logged in, coaches can access:

  • Performer competition schedules (date, venue, time, performance number)

  • Music uploads for their performers

You will only see performers who have selected you as their coach in their Performer MyCompHQ account under the My Coaches tab.

Only coaches registered as 2026 Development Coaches will appear as selectable coaches.

If a performer cannot find your name and you hold a valid 2026 Development Coach registration, please email
admin@calisthenics.asn.au so this can be updated.

Please note: Performance numbers cannot be changed under any circumstances.

How do I order videos?

To order videos, you need to have a Red Ron Media account with the same email address used for your entries. You can order anytime as Red Ron Media will be recording all items.

A reminder that for 2026 Red Ron Media will be providing video services for metro competitions in Weeks 1, 3, 4 and 5, CaliStars, CaliRec, and the State Championships.

Duo/Trio Frequently Asked Questions

I want to compete in a Duo/Trio next year. Do I need to apply for a grading?

No, Duo and Trio gradings will be released after competition entries close.

Can CaliStar's perfomers compete in Duos/Trios?

CaliStar's performers are eligible to compete in Duos, but not yet avaliable for Trios.

Masters Frequently Asked Questions

The Masters program continues to grow and with that growth some changes may be necessary. Throughout the competition season, we consistently received feedback that the wide range within the Masters category can lead to unfair competition. In response, we launched a Masters Solo Survey to gather your input. Of those who completed the survey, 75% indicated a preference for grading to be based on age rather than division. As participation increases, we may eventually introduce divisions within age groups but at this stage, there isn't yet enough to support that structure.

QUESTION  ANSWER
Why are Masters divided by age groups instead of divisions?

Feedback from both the Masters Survey and the 2025 and 2026 Solo Season Survey indicated a preference for age-based competition within the Masters category. Age groups are currently used to provide fair and meaningful competition opportunities while participation numbers continue to grow.

Why are the Masters age groups seperated in 10 year increments?

Due to large numbers, some age groups were further divided into 5-year increments. As the program continues to grow smaller age group brackets may be introduced. This structure will continue to be reviewed as participation increases.

What are the changes to the Masters age groups in 2027 ?

Through feedback and growth in the Masters section, the changes have been made as follows.

 Calisthenics Solo:

2026 Grading had 5 divisions 26-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46+, Open

2027 Grading has 6 divisions 26-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46+,Open 26-35 Years, Open 36+ Years

 Graceful Solo:

2026 Grading had 7 divisions 26-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 50+, Open and Open Reserve

2027 Grading has 10 divisions 26-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51+, Open 26-35, Open 36+, Open Reserve 26-40, Open Reserve 41+

Why isn't Open divided into Age Groups?

In 2026 there were not enough participants in each age group to support splitting the section. As numbers have now increased, the 2027 Masters Open Cali and 2027 Masters Graceful Open and Open Reserve sections will be divided into two age groups. This will continue to be reviewed as participation grows.

Why are Masters no longer split into SE and NW Regions?

The number of competitors in each age bracket was not high enough to support a regional split between SE and NW. Again, as participation increases, this will continue to be reviewed.

Will age groups be combined if there aren't enough entrants?

Yes, they will. Based on survey feedback, the majority of Masters participants said they would prefer age groups to be combined rather than have a section cancelled due to low numbers.

Will Masters divisions be introduced in the future?

As participation continues to grow, there may be opportunities to introduce divisions within age groups. Any future changes would be carefully considered using participation data and community feedback to ensure sections remain fair and viable. Looking at the Masters grading for 2027, it is not viable or fair to create divisions within age groups. This will continued to be reviewed each year as participation grows.

Who conducts the Solo Grading? Solo grading is carried out by an experienced and dedicated Solo Grading Committee who review grading information in accordance with the Solo Grading Criteria.
What is the minimum age to compete in a Solo in 2027?

Performers must be at least 5 years old as at 31 December 2027 to compete in a Calisthenics solo.

Performers must be at least 8 years old as at 31 December 2027 to compete in a Graceful solo.

I am changing clubs next year or do not want to appear on the grading list. Do I need to notify CaliVic?
Yes. Please complete the Solo Change of Grading Circumstance Form.
Why has a performer moved up two divisions?

It may appear that a performer has moved up two divisions when additional divisions have been introduced due to increasing participation numbers. In some cases, structural changes to divisions may affect how progression appears from one year to the next.

Is the 18 Years to Senior grading transition being reviewed?

Yes. This was a common theme in the 2026 Solo Season Survey. 2027 improvement information has been added and can be found in the solo grading criteria.

How are new or returning performers graded?

New Performers
Performers who are new to Solo Competitions and are competing in team competitions during the 2026 season are eligible to apply for a grading. New Grading Applications will open on 20 July 2026 and close on 13 September 2026. All performers must hold a current grading before they can enter Solo Competitions.
Returning Performers
To be eligible to compete in Solo Competitions in 2027, performers must have competed in the 2026 team competition season. If a performer did not compete in team competitions during 2026, they do not meet the eligibility requirements to compete in Solo Competitions in 2027.
Special Consideration Requests
Calisthenics Victoria recognises that exceptional circumstances may arise which prevent a performer from competing in the team season. Requests for special consideration, including those relating to medical reasons or other exceptional circumstances, may be submitted for review. Applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and approval to compete in Solo Competitions will be at the discretion of Calisthenics Victoria.

Will achievements in one discipline be considered when entering another discipline?

As this is a new application, it comes down to the information provided by the performer when applying for a grading in a new discipline.

Why do some performers remain in the same division for several years?

Division progression was a common area of feedback in the 2026 Solo Season Survey. If the performer doesn’t receive the relevant score to move up or down, then they will remain in their current division. Every performer is reviewed at the end of the solo season based on their results to determine what division they will be allocated for the upcoming solo season. Please read the grading criteria for further information.

Can a grading decision be reviewed or appealed?

Yes. If you believe you have been incorrectly graded, your coach must complete this Grading Review Application by June 28th.

Why are we being charged a grading fee?

To ensure grading applications are only submitted by performers intending to compete, Calisthenics Victoria now charges a $25 grading fee for new grading applications.
In previous years, a significant number of performers applied for a grading but did not proceed to enter competitions, resulting in considerable administrative work for the Grading Committee.
For performers who go on to compete, the $25 grading fee will be credited against their Solo Competition entry fees, meaning there is no additional cost if you enter competitions.
Please note that if you obtain a grading but do not proceed to enter any Solo Competitions, the grading fee is non-refundable.

Why is the grading list not remaining on the website?

Due to ongoing daily changes relating to clubs, performer names and grading adjustments, it is no longer sustainable to continually update and re-upload grading information to the website. Performers can view their current grading at any time through their individual profile.
