Published Mon 27 Apr 2026
Calisthenics Victoria’s Annual General Meeting highlighted a year of strong progress, underpinned by growing membership and a positive financial result.
The Annual General Meeting was well attended by club delegates, Life Members and representatives of CVAC and CVA, with members joining both online and in person at the Karralyka Theatre on April 15th. The meeting provided an important opportunity for connection, reflection and forward planning.
A key highlight of the past 12 months has been the continued growth in participation across the state. Increasing membership numbers reflect the strength of the calisthenics community, the dedication of clubs and coaches, and the ongoing appeal of the sport to participants of all ages. This growth places Calisthenics Victoria in a strong position to continue expanding opportunities and pathways for members.
The organisation also reported a positive financial result, reinforcing a stable and sustainable foundation for the future. This outcome reflects disciplined financial management and a clear focus on delivering value to members, while continuing to invest in programs, events and initiatives across the state. During the meeting, members formally adopted the financial reports and acknowledged the work undertaken throughout the year to strengthen both participation and organisational sustainability. The AGM also saw the re-election of Elizabeth Brande and Melissa Walker for a further term on the Calisthenics Victoria Board, alongside the election of Vivian Renzella Rose to her first term. Vivian has been a member of the Finance, Audit and Risk committee for the past 18 months and brings experience across governance, risk and operational improvement.
Annaliese Murphy did not seek re-election, concluding her years of service on both the Board and the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee. Annaliese made a significant contribution to the financial strategy and operations of Calisthenics Victoria, and we thank her for her dedication and wish her every success in her future board career.
The membership also endorsed the reappointment of Auditor Charterhouse & Co, Legal counsel Ian Fullagar of LexSportiva, and Patron Ros Otzen for the next 12 months.
The Calisthenics Victoria Board was also delighted to announce the awarding of Life Membership to Kathy Schoer, recognising her outstanding contribution and the countless hours she has devoted to calisthenics in Victoria.
Looking ahead, Calisthenics Victoria is focused on concluding the 2023–2026 Strategic Plan and building momentum into the next phase. Members were encouraged to be ready to contribute as we begin shaping the 2027 and beyond strategic plan. With strong membership growth and a sound financial position, the organisation is well placed to continue enhancing the experience for participants, supporting clubs, and delivering high-quality competitions and programs.
Calisthenics Victoria extends its sincere thanks to its clubs, volunteers, coaches, officials and staff, whose ongoing commitment continues to drive the sport forward.
