Child Safety for Clubs

Club Support & Resources

Keeping children and young people safe is everyone’s responsibility.

All organisations that provide services or facilities to children must take steps to prevent child abuse and promote children’s safety and wellbeing. In Victoria, the 11 Child Safe Standards establish a minimum set of requirements to help organisations prevent, identify and respond to child abuse.

The Child Safe Standards were developed in response to recommendations from the Victorian Parliament’s Betrayal of Trust Inquiry and evidence about effective approaches to preventing child abuse.

  • Promote the Safety of Children
  • Prevent Child Abuse
  • Ensure organisations and businesses have effective processes in place to respond to and report all allegations of child abuse.

Child Safe Standards work by:

  • Driving changes in organisational culture – embedding child safety in everyday thinking and practice
  • Providing a minimum standard of child safety across all organisations
  • Highlighting that we all have a role to keep children safe from abuse.

This section provides Calisthenics Victoria clubs with information and resources to understand their responsibilities and put child safety into practice.
